April 30 election had no candidates on the ballot for Livingston Parish but did have two new taxes, both of which passed.The first is a new ½% sales tax for the Albany School District which will begin July 1, 2022 and will continue in perpetuity. Leadership Livingston Class of 2017 was announced in July. The annual Meet & Greet for the class was planned for August 15, 2016 and the opening retreat for the class was planned for the following weekend. The weekend of August 13th brought more rain and flooded a large portion of Livingston Parish. Grant Requested for Proposed Nature Park in Livingston Parish
On Tuesday, July 14, 2015, Denham Springs City Council Members voted on seeking a $100,000 in federal grants from the to go toward a nature park along the Amite River.
