Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce Celebrates Grand Opening of Wilder Blue Ranch
New Clydesdale breeding ranch brings Louisiana's first registered Clydesdale foal — and a passion for an endangered breed — to the community
The Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce joined local business owners and Chamber Ambassadors this week to celebrate the ribbon cutting of Wilder Blue Ranch, a new Clydesdale breeding ranch now open to the public for tours and events.
Founded by Caroline and her mother, Staci, along with Caroline's husband, Wilder Blue Ranch grew out of a deeply personal journey. While searching for a sense of direction in her own life, Caroline traveled to Montana, where her lifelong love of horses led her to a discovery that would change everything: Clydesdales are an endangered breed. That discovery sparked a passion that quickly became a calling — and, ultimately, a ranch.
The family welcomed their first horse in October of last year, and the operation has grown steadily since. Today, the ranch is home to several Clydesdales as well as quarter horses, and the newest addition is drawing special attention: a four-month-old foal named Wilder Blue, the first registered Clydesdale in the state of Louisiana.
The ranch's name reflects its founding spirit. "Wilder Blue" carries a meaning similar to the idea of chasing greener pastures — the pull toward something bigger, still out there, worth searching for.
In addition to its Clydesdales and quarter horses, Wilder Blue Ranch is home to a small menagerie that includes a donkey, turkeys, rabbits, and two pigs — one adopted, and one that wandered onto the property and simply never left.
Wilder Blue Ranch is now open to the public and offers:
- Guided farm tours
- Private parties and children's events
- Up-close, hands-on experiences with the animals
Tours are currently available by appointment only.
