Livingston Parish Chamber to Host Two Candidate Forums in 2019

The Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce encourages Livingston Parish residents to be informed voters by attending two political forums hosted by the Livingston Parish Chamber’s Governmental Affairs Committee in September.

April Wehrs, Chamber President and CEO said, “Keeping voters informed is an important goal of the Governmental Affairs Committee. Hosting political forums like these are an excellent way for people to learn more about the candidates that they will be voting for in October.”

On Sept. 19 there will be a forum with State Legislative candidates held at Wholly Ground Coffeehouse in Walker. There will be a chance to meet with candidates from 7:30 am until the forum begins at 8 am. So far seven candidates have confirmed they will be present at the forum.

On Sept. 23 Livingston Parish Council candidates will have an opportunity to address voters at a forum which will also be held at Wholly Ground in Walker. This will be an evening event. There will be an opportunity to meet candidates at 6:30 pm and the forum will begin at 7 pm.

Governmental Affairs Committee Chair, Chad Bacas said, “We are expecting a lot of interest in these forums. The people of Livingston Parish are becoming increasingly more informed about their government and we are proud to play a part in that.”

The Forums are free and open to the public, however, there is limited seating available. The Livingston Parish Chamber requests that RSVPs are made on their website at www.livingstonparishchamber.org.
