RE:  Edwards and Graves debate confirmed by Livingston Chamber

Congressional runoff candidates, Edwin Edwards and Garret Graves, have confirmed their availability and participation in a debate hosted by the Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce.  The debate will be held on Tuesday, December 2nd at 6 p.m. in Denham Springs.

“Representation of the district, which includes Livingston Parish, is important to the parish.  Business growth along with community issues and economic vitality are relevant to the chamber.  The chamber represents over 500 businesses and nearly 20,000 employees through our membership.  With the growth of the area, we anticipate that number to grow substantially,” states Kim Sanders, Chamber Chairman of the Board.

The debate will include randomly selected questions.  Each candidate will have an equal number of questions and amount of time to answer.  Rebuttal time is also allocated along with introductions and closing comments.

“Both campaigns responded quickly to the invitation to participate.  We’ve allowed time for attendees to visit with the candidates following the debate.  There is no charge to attend, and we encourage the community to take advantage of this opportunity”, said April Wehrs, chamber president.

The event will be held at Forrest Grove, 8743 Stephenson Drive in Denham Springs.   The debate will begin at 6 pm. For more information, contact the Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce at 225-665-8155.
