LIVINGSTON, LOUISIANA—Pelican Credit Union is helping ease the stress of higher education through its Team Pelican Scholarship Awards. Pelican awarded graduating senior Emily Leggett a $1,000 college scholarship.

The Team Pelican Scholarship Program is an exclusive benefit for Team Pelican Youth Savings Account members! Fifteen finalists were chosen based on academic achievements, acts of service, and inspirational goals. In 2026, the credit union awarded $15,000 in scholarships to graduating high school seniors.

While attending Denham Springs High School, Leggett maintained a 4.0 GPA and was accepted into the AHEC of a summer program. She was a member of the Junior Varsity Cheer Team, and Jackets Against Destructive Decisions. Currently, she is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Reach Club. In addition to her numerous accomplishments, Leggett volunteered with several local programs at the Hebron Baptist Church.

Leggett plans on attending Southeastern Louisiana University to study nursing.
