April 30 Election Results - Albany Sales Tax, District 4 Fire Protection

April 30 election had no candidates on the ballot for Livingston Parish but did have two new taxes, both of which passed.


The first is a new ½% sales tax for the Albany School District which will begin July 1, 2022 and will continue in perpetuity. Tax proceeds will be dedicated and used for constructing and improving public school buildings and facilities therein and acquiring land, equipment, and furnishings. Unofficial voter turnout for this election was 8.9% for 9 precincts with a total of 615 votes.  

The second tax, for Fire Protection District No. 4, is a special tax of 15 mills for 20 years for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, improving, maintaining and/or operating fire protection and emergency medical service facilities, vehicles, and equipment, including both movable and immovable property, and to pay the costs of obtaining water for fire hydrant purposes, including charges for fire hydrant rentals and services. Unofficial voter turnout for this election was 3.5% for 42 precincts with a total of 1,482 votes.
