Infiltrator Water Technologies (IWT) is a market leader within the onsite wastewater treatment industry, Infiltrator manufactures a variety of revolutionary products and innovative, environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional stone and pipe leachfield and concrete septic wastewater system components. IWT is a wholly owned subsidiary of Advanced Drainage Systems (ticker: WMS, NYSE).

The majority of our products are produced almost entirely from recycled resins. Infiltrator’s recycling operation is among the country’s top twenty producers / consumers of recycled resins and among only a few of whom consume 100% of that resin in the finished products produced. Infiltrator operates some of largest molding machines and robotics producing the largest plastic molded parts in the world. IWT has always and continues to compete on innovation; we hold over 200 patents.

This position is located at our Walker, LA, facility where we manufacture advanced wastewater treatment units for residential and commercial decentralized wastewater treatment systems.
Responsibilities:

POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a Production Planner in manufacturing, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient coordination of production activities to meet customer demands while optimizing resources. Your responsibilities will involve strategic planning, scheduling, and monitoring production processes to achieve timely delivery of high-quality products.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain production schedules to ensure the timely execution of manufacturing orders. Coordinate with various departments including procurement, production, and logistics to align schedules with available resources and production capacity.

2. Material Planning: Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure availability of raw materials, components, and supplies required for each job prior to starting manufacturing, monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and adjust procurement plans as necessary to prevent shortages or excess inventory. Forecast and plan for every part PFEP to ensure optimal lead-times.
3. Capacity Planning: Continuously analyze production capacity and identify constraints and develop feasible production plans. Optimize resource utilization by balancing workloads across production lines and shifts, considering factors such as equipment availability, part availability, labor capacity, and lead times.
4. Order Management: Review and prioritize customer orders based on delivery requirements, production capacity, and inventory Communicate with sales teams and customer service regarding order status, lead times, and potential delays to manage expectations effectively.
5. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements within the production planning process. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and sustain best practices, streamline workflows, and reduce waste.
6. Performance Monitoring: Monitor key performance indicators (KPis) such as production output, cycle times, cost impacts and schedule adherence. Analyze variances and deviations from plan to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to ensure production targets are met.
7. Risk Management: Anticipate potential risks and disruptions to production schedules, such as material and component availability, equipment breakdowns, supplier delays, or workforce shortages. Develop contingency plans and alternative scenarios to mitigate risks and minimize impact on production operations.
8. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production schedules, material requirements, and production performance data. Generate reports and analytics to track performance metrics, identify trends, and support decision-making processes.


EXPERIENCE, EDUCATIONAL, AND TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Operations Management, or related field.
  • APICS certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in using production planning software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
