Livingston Parish Golf Outing announces winners

Denham Springs, LA (November 2, 2017) –

Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce held their 22nd annual golf tournament on October 30, 2017, at Greystone Golf and Country Club, in Denham Springs.  This year’s Halloween theme brought many characters and creatures out to play and offered collaborative fun for golfers and event sponsors.

The event was open to avid golfers and novices alike, and 32 teams came out to enjoy an afternoon of sport and fellowship. Interactive sponsor booths were set up throughout the course, providing a fun party station atmosphere at each hole on the green. With bragging rights on the line, sponsors went all out with costumes, booth ambiance, food, and drinks.

As a new feature this year, golfers voted on their favorite sponsor participants in a number of categories. Essential Federal Credit Union’s troll theme won best tent décor, while Quality Engineering took home honors for best witch’s brew with their event drink, “the putting green.” Stewart family medicine triumphed in the food contest with catering from Porky’s Boudin and Cajun Meats.

In the golf team competition category, GMFS players Bryan Sparacino, Nick Lorio, Chris Husser and Scott Cooper took first place honors among the top three teams. Corey Templet, Chuck Autrey, Ryan Pope and David Griffin, of Kent’s Companies, came in second place, and, representing the Byron Gill State Farm office, Byron Gill, Nolan Gill, Scott Varnado and Keith Zettlemeyer finished in third place.

Additional tournament winners included Chris Husser of GMFS (putting contest), Ben Smith of The Glass Guru (poker run), Betsy McDowell of The Advocate (longest drive), and Jimmy Durbin (closest to pin). Raffle winners were Chuck Laudermill of Quality Engineering (event raffle) and Jeff LaRosa (Ochsner tent raffle).
