Leadership Livingston Team Projects
Project Impact: $36,376 | Volunteer Hours: 242
#Impacted: Over 18,000 Residents/Visitors
When first considering the direction of our project, our group grappled with a series of ambitious proposals. Yet, as we whittled away at our various ideas, we found we were universally interested in two simple principles: equity and access.
The Town of Albany had been working to revitalize its municipal park, but, due to budgetary constraints, progress was incremental and sluggish. Our team stepped in to expedite the rejuvenation, and we concentrated our efforts on bringing the park into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Although there is still more work to be done, we hope our project will act as a springboard for the Town of Albany to continue to make the park fully accessible to community members of all ages and physical capabilities.
